Mexicali Pork Chops

When at your Fareway Meat Counter ask for the "America's Cut". It is a tender, 1 1/2" thick cut of the center loin chop and works wonderfully in this flavorful recipe!

Ingredients

  • 4 boneless pork center loin chops, 1 1/2 inch thick
  • 4 oz canned green chilies
  • 2 tsp oregano
  • 2 clove garlic
  • 2 tsp ground cumin
  • 4 Tbsp apple cider vinegar
  • 2 tsp oil

Directions

  1. In blender container, place chilies, oregano, garlic, cumin, and vinegar. Puree until smooth. 

  2. Marinate chops in mixture 4-24 hours, refrigerated.

  3. Heat oil in heavy skillet.

  4. Remove chops from marinade, and cook 6-8 minutes on each side until internal temperature on a thermometer reads 145 degrees Fahrenheit, followed by a 3-minute rest time.
